Deadmau5 at O2 Brixton in London

Our first act on the road takes us back a few weeks to a certain Lazarus rodent. He may be dead but we've never seen the crowd more alive. On the weekend of May 1st, our one and only Deadmau5 played a three day eruption of beats at the O2 Brixton Academy in London to begin his 2010 UK tour. With headliners like Moguai and Michael Woods, the crowd was already clamoring for more as Mau5 took the stage. Trust us when we say the Brits know how to party. His new stage set up is beyond comprehensible (reportedly designed by the same team that worked on Daft's Alive 2007 tour which comes as no surprise when you see that cube wheeled on stage). The crowd went wild as he opened the set with his brand new "Some Chords."

Later on in the night he warped his already crowd pleasing "You Need a Ladder" by adding Sofi to the mix, the "Sofi Needs a Ladder" version of which becomes even dirtier than the first.

Of course no circus would be complete without a bit of the paranormal and Deadmau5 didn't let down. Halfway through the set he dropped a mix of "Ghosts 'n' Stuff" and "Moar Ghosts 'n' Stuff."

To keep things complicated, there was a minor glitch in the lights but he quickly kept things on track during "Sometimes Things Get Whatever."

Towards the end of his set, another new song was played — "Cthulhu Sleeps" — which was a welcome surprise. Had the sounds of Deadmau5 written all over it and wasn't anything drastically new but it was good to get an unfamiliar Mau5 song thrown into the mix to break things up.

By the end of he set the song we had all been waiting for (the song that melts you every time you hear it): "Arguru." That opening build into the soaring main line still gives us goosebumps. By the time the piano hits you're ready to cry. At this point our camera work is mediocre at best. We apologize for its poor form. Arms were tired, we were in a ethereal state of consciousness, just enjoying the music.

And so goes the dizzying performance of Deadmau5 at the O2 Brixton. For those that missed it we apologize and for those that did we need not say more.
